Created by a former Product Lead from OkCupid Labs and backed by 500 Startups, Whim is a mobile app that curates and coordinates first dates for this week. Going from a match to a date is now seamless, as we have eliminated the frustration of messaging, waiting, planning, and flakiness that characterizes the experience on existing dating apps (Hinge, CoffeeMeetsBagel, Tinder, OkCupid). Simply open the app to indicate when you're free and who you like. We then figure out the time, the place, and the person you’re going to meet, so that you can be out on a real-life date a few hours later - without all the work and buildup. Our revenue model is subscription based. Our early distribution strategy primarily leverages local PR coupled with financial in-app sharing incentives. We've validated our value proposition through a web app beta launched to Los Angeles in 2014 and through our current iOS beta (SF Bay Area). We're excited to launch in the iOS App Store in June 2015.
