Prime Genomics has identified a signature for identifying breast cancer from saliva samples using its proprietary tool for evaluating the expression patterns of a large number of genes thermodynamically. Currently the compliance rate, in developed countries, is 50% for women who should get mammograms. In developing countries, with compliance rates around 5%, access to mammography is the challenge to early Dx. Testing saliva samples in a Drs office at low cost with minimal necessary infrastructure is an effective way of increasing Dx.
