Particle (formerly Spark)

Particle OS is an open source operating system for the Internet of Things that runs in the cloud. We provide easy to use hardware development tools for connected products, a complete tech stack for a connected product that extends from the device itself to the cloud to the smartphone and web interface, and a managed scalable cloud platform for connected products. We solve the technical challenges, both hardware and software related, for hobbyists, start-ups, and manufacturers who want to bring their products online so that they can focus on what matters — the user experience. We've shipped tens of thousands of Spark Cores (our hardware dev kit) to engineers around the world, and have built one of the strongest communities in the Internet of Things. We recently began shipping our second hardware product, the Photon, which is faster, cheaper, and better than the Spark Core. We've also introduced the Electron, a new cellular dev kit which comes along with an affordable data plan.
