The Orphidia device is an entire lab made portable. It works similarly to the glucometer: a single drop of blood from a finger prick is sufficient to fill a disposable cartridge, and the results are shown within 20 minutes. Orphidia has new tech for complete control over fluid flow, residence time and reaction conditions in each cartridge micro-well. So a single Orphidia cartridge can test 50 specific blood markers simultaneously carrying out all the common medical tests for liver, heart, pancreas and kidney function, hormones, vitamins and general health of the patient. Results are quantitative and meet the gold standard level of accuracy previously found only in lab-based diagnostics. The test results are accessed through our mobile app which also displays historical trends together with various analytics, This trend data can be analysed to give further significant insights into each patient’s health and used to develop new understandings of biology leading to new medical tests.
