At Hedgy, we're on a mission to create a more open, accountable and distributed financial world by rebuilding traditional financial infrastructure using cryptographic ledgers. Our first product is a smart forward contract for over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives on the Bitcoin block chain. It is designed to help bitcoin miners, merchants, remittance processors and payment gateways protect themselves from price volatility without selling their assets. Further, it allows bitcoin speculators to gain consistent exposure to the price movement of bitcoin, enabling them to realize profit potential without buying or selling the underlying asset. Each smart contract is bespoke, executed over-the-counter, using margin deposits taken in bitcoin through multi-sig (no fiat currency is involved). Hedgy uses a variation of the oracle method to settle the different contract outcomes out of that multi-sig wallet.
